A HIGHLIGHT FROM LAST SEASON
Join Kathryn in yet another journey to learn about the food, culture and fishing in Japan . In Gifu City , Kathryn fished along side the master Commarant fisherman, called Usho. Some of the most exciting fishing she has ever experienced. With twelve birds in tow and fire ablaze, they floated down the ancient river, called Nagara, while exploiting the exemplary fishing skills of the oily feathered Commarants. The Kangare, an iron basket that holds wood is set ablaze to guide the way and awaken the sleeping fish. The light lures the fish to the surface whereby the Commarants swiftly scoop them up eagerly like a dog to a bone.
IN KATHRYN'S SPARE TIME
In Kathyrn's spare time she is the designer of a stylish clothing line especially designed for women with a penchant for spending time outdoors. Kathryn is a co-founder of Casting for Recovery Canada (www.castingforrecovery.com) – a cause that utilizes fly fishing to aid breast cancer survivors. CFRC is in it's 5th season and Kathryn is the president of this organization. Fishing goes hand in hand with friendships and a balanced lifestyle.
WHAT THE VIEWERS AND FAN's THINK
"Caught your show for the first time earlier this month, the episode where you are looking for trophy bones and enjoyed what I saw. I then caught the tail end of the show that aired this past Sunday in Mongolia and thought that this is definitely a show that's worth watching. I could give you a long, convoluted background of myself, but instead, I'm just going to say that I have been a part of this industry a long time, have seen shows like this come and go but this is one that I would like to see stick around.
